Celebrating 10 Years of Our Community Beauty Spot

On Saturday 15 March, the Tamworth community came together to celebrate our 10th Anniversary of the community-led horticulture and gardening. We were joined by many local residents, representatives from local businesses, our supportive partners, and the friends and family of BCA&G volunteers.

The celebrations kicked off with Chair, Etheline Deer, acknowledging the BCA&G’s inspirational journey and it’s many noteworthy achievements, thus far, in truly creating a sustainable allotment and garden. Jan Massey (Asda Community & Customer Champion), then presented the volunteers with a cheque of £1,500 awarded by the Asda Foundation Outdoor Community Spaces Grant, and the guests were served a buffet-styled lunch, whilst the children were kept occupied with activities such as bug hunting and craft creations to take home.

Helen Betts of the RHS, Heart of England in Bloom/It’s Your Neighbourhood, finished the celebrations by kindly cutting the bespoke celebration cake, depicting all the joys and qualities of this community allotment and garden.
