Summer 2026
Posted on Jul 13, 2026June 2026
June was a very exciting month for us here at Belgrave Community Allotment! It started with a visit from Mrs Helen Betts on 1 June, who enjoyed a tour of the allotment as part of the judging process for the RHS’s It’s Your Neighbourhood community garden scheme. We are eagerly awaiting to see if we’ve retained our Gold accreditation!
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, staff and pupils of St Gabriels Catholic PreSchool and Two Rivers 6th formers, to Tamworth Number 8, Dementia Caring, Tamworth Community Fire, Staff and for your support on the day, and to Mr Peter Freeth of Genius Photography for capturing the morning for us.

On the very same day, we were also delighted to be joined by Laura McMullan from BBC Midlands Today as part of media activity for the Eden Project’s Big Lunch and Big Help Out initiative. Following a morning of filming, a short item all about BCAG was shown on several BBC Midlands Today bulletins, with an accompanying article published on the BBC website. Etheline was also interviewed on BBC Radio WM and featured in Chat magazine, (28 May, Issue 556) ahead of the allotment’s annual Big Lunch, which took place on 6 June, funded by The Staffordshire County Council & Support Staffordshire Supportive Communities Small Sparks Fund.
