The Belgrave Community Allotment and Garden is tucked away between St. Gabriel Primary School and Tamworth Community Fire and Police Station, with its entrance gate accessible from Marlborough Way.
Step through the gate, and you’ll find yourself in a peaceful green haven, a space for everyone to enjoy. Judges from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) have praised it as “a quintessential English garden, brimming with flowering herbaceous plants, perennials and vibrant seasonal blooms.”

As you stroll along the wood-chipped path, you’ll discover a variety of raised beds stretching across the site, brimming with organic vegetables, fragrant herbs and strawberries thriving in circular tiered planters. Soft fruits grow safely within protective cages, while just beyond, you’ll find the polytunnel, a tranquil wildlife pond and a Wellbeing Garden nestled within the orchard.
At the end of the pathway awaits the ‘Hub’—a welcoming space featuring picnic tables, benches, a greenhouse, potting shed, gazebo, and our unique eco-kitchen, crafted from reclaimed scaffolding boards.
The Allotment and Garden is an off-grid site, enhanced by a range of environmental and renewable energy systems. These include rainwater harvesting and irrigation, an eco-composting toilet, and a solar panel system, all designed to uphold our commitment to sustainability.
The Belgrave Community Allotment and Garden is a not-for-profit project, lovingly run and maintained by local volunteers who share a passion for gardening and growing fresh, organic food. All harvested crops are either taken home by our volunteers or preserved into a delicious selection of jams, jellies and chutneys.

We are also incredibly grateful for the generous product contributions from local businesses such as Tamworth Cooperative Society, Travis Perkins Tamworth, Asda Tamworth, Wickes Tamworth, McDonald’s Wilnecote, Homebase Sutton Coldfield, B&Q Neighbourly, Morrisons Tamworth, and PB Refurbishment Ltd.
A special thank you to Tamworth Round Table and its skilled tradespeople for their invaluable time, expertise and community spirit in supporting our work.
We warmly invite schools to visit the allotment, enriching their curriculum across subjects like English, Maths, Geography and Science. Through hands-on experiences, students discover the joys and benefits of growing vegetables, herbs, and fruits.
Here’s what our schools have to say:
“Thank you for helping us grow!
Thank you for your guidance and support this academic year. You have been an absolute inspiration to not just our students, but our staff too!“

Since 2022, our ‘Ground to Table Project’ has welcomed partnerships with St. Gabriel, Mortimer House School, and Two Rivers High, continuing each year with new student cohorts. This term, our preschoolers are exploring ‘Spring Planting’ and ‘Life Cycles’, seamlessly integrating with the project’s hands-on learning approach.
